The 51-year-old Crimean Tatar worked as a taxi driver before the occupation. This work was popular and in demand in the resort district of Henicheskyi.

On March 27, Rustem decided to move his 6-year-old daughter, wife, and 82-year-old mother from the village of Novooleksiiivka to relatives in Crimea.

While crossing the "Chongar" checkpoint, Rustem was detained and held together with his family for about 48 hours, after which, in front of his daughter, the father was put in a minibus and taken to Simferopol.

In 2 days it became known that the occupation court arrested Rustem on charges of participation in an illegal armed formation. Guguryk is accused of being a member of the Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan. This military formation was only planned to be created in Ukraine. Still, the occupants declared it terrorist and falsified dozens of criminal cases against the Crimeans, in which Chelebidzhikhan's battalion appears.

Guguryk rejects the accusation and pleads not guilty. The lawyer reports on false witnesses from the prosecution's side, and even some say that they have never seen Rustem.

As a result of the 7-month imprisonment, Rustem's chronic heart and hearing problems worsened. The doctor visited him only once but did not prescribe anything. An illegal prisoner complains about unbearable conditions in the Simferopol pre-trial detention center. The captured Rustem Guguryk was the only breadwinner in the family. Three children, a wife, and an old mother are now in trouble.

The next session of the self-proclaimed court will be held on October 25.
