Explosions in Crimea on the birthday of the Chairman of the Mejlis, hitting the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet and the loss of Russian soldiers in Sevastopol

On September 22, the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in occupied Sevastopol suffered a powerful air strike. At noon, Crimeans began to write on social networks that they saw a smoke screen over Sevastopol Bay, which the occupiers usually use to cover important objects on the peninsula. Immediately after that, reports appeared about the work of Russian air defense systems, in particular in the area of the Belbek airfield, in the military garrison of the village of Sarabuz (Gvardiyske), and in the area of the city of Saky. 

At the same time, it became known about the suspension of sea passenger transport in Sevastopol.

And within a few minutes, local residents heard at least three powerful explosions.

A photo of the smoky building of the main headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet went viral on all social networks.

Several sources immediately reported a large number of ambulances heading to the scene. A total of 20 ambulances were counted.

Sevastopol Gauleiter Razvozhaev confirmed the hit to the headquarters building on the social network.

Crimean telegram channels reported at least six injured and one dead. Probably all of them are Russian military.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed the death of at least one serviceman.

A foreign journalist, who is currently in Crimea, managed to film the moment of the headquarters building being hit on his phone.

At the same time, there were reports of explosions in other areas of the peninsula.

In particular, in the military unit of the occupiers near Bakhchisaray, several explosions in the Simferopol district, as well as in the north of Crimea near the village of Dzhurchi (Pervomaiske).

A photo confirmation was received from the Bakhchisarai village of Bazarchik (Poshtove), showing plumes of smoke. From Sarabuz (Gvardiyske) near the Crimean capital, it was reported that a large number of ambulances went in the direction of the military unit.

Ukrainian users of social networks traditionally marked the event with numerous memes. In particular, they mentioned the birthday of the head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, Refat Chubarov.
