WHERE IS OLEKSANDR ZHUHAN?

Oleksandr Zhuhan disappeared in the first days of the full-scale war. His relatives last spoke to him by phone on March 3.

44-year-old Oleksandr is a resident of Romny, Sumy region. He was engaged in construction and roofing. And when the Russians went on a wide attack, he could not sit still and decided, together with the community of the city, to help in its defense.

Together with other local men, Oleksandr arranged fortifications, and poured “Molotov cocktails”. And when Russian tanks entered the city through the checkpoint at which he was on duty, Oleksandr first drove away, but later returned - with a box of the incendiary mixture in the trunk. He did not have time to use the cocktails. The occupants captured took him.

Oleksandr's car was found by his wife Alla near a granary outside the city. Already when the Armed Forces of Ukraine released Romny, it turned out that the Russians were holding Oleksandr and the workers there captive in the granary building. Almost all of them returned home, except Oleksandr Zhuhan and another prisoner named Yevhen.

The Russians will later force Yevhen to say on camera that Ukrainians are to blame for the war with the Russian Federation. This video will appear on one of the Russian propaganda telegram channels.

Alla Zhuhan does not know where her husband is now. For 7 months, he was not allowed to contact his relatives. Alla assumes that he is being held in the Belgorod region. The National Information Bureau confirms that Oleksandr Zhuhan is in Russian captivity and is on the list for exchange.
